Topic: Parish Pastoral Councils in the Planning Process

Presenter: Jim Barrette

Jim Barrette, of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, offers us his thoughts on the role of the parish pastoral council in the planning process.

Jim sets the table in these words: “Parish Pastoral Councils are critical to the planning process because of their very important role in keeping the mission of the church in focus as the planning process goes forward. Properly developed, the PPC is a ‘wisdom community’ that has the full picture of the parish in mind with clergy and laity working co-responsibly to recommend goals for the parish. How do you keep their eye in the mission? How does the PPC become wise? How do you build differentiated co-responsibility? Join us and see.”
